I am Graphic Designer, Photography Curator and Art Manager. I have graduated from the Lodz Film School Photography Department and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the faculty of book design. In 2016 I have completed a postgraduate "Art in Practice" course at Collegium Civitas focused on art scene and visual arts management and production.
In 2016 I have established the Fort Institute of Photography in Warsaw (IFF). IFF was born out of the need to create space for the new and emerging photography scene in Poland. I realized there was a wide gap between museums, national galleries and small galleries. With that said, my goal became to create a place that would provide both the freedom and independence of artist-run spaces as well as institutional resources.
Before establishing the IFF, I have worked as a graphic designer – specializing in books and as an art director and creative director in lifestyle and fashion magazines in Poland. During that time photography has always remained at the center of my interests and photobook design being my deepest devotion.
Having that said after 7 years as a manger, curator and exhibition producer I have stepped out of the position of the IFF Chairman of the Board. Although I am still involved in IFF as a member of the Programme Council I have decided to go back to my roots in designing photobooks which I am doing untill now.
At this portfolio website you can find my design, curatorial and production projects – exhibitions, books, catalogues, posters as well as my art direction for magazines.
